The Sunday Sampler featuring The Rich Sheldon Band
Rich Sheldon — Singer, Songwriter and Guitarist — is a graduate of Florida State University who built his career in the beach cities of West L.A., where he became a professional performer, commercial actor, and honed his Americana folk & roots rock sound. Shaped by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, and Bob Marley, he has earned a reputation as one of the hardest-gigging musicians around, performing solo and with his band across the L.A. coast and Tampa Bay for well over a decade.
The band features local guitar legend Steve Connelly, founder of The Headlights — a celebrated Florida folk/roots-rock act of the '80s–'90s who toured with Roger McGuinn of The Byrds and appeared on The Tonight Show. Rounding out the lineup are Damon Navari on drums and percussion and Mark Messina on bass.
The Rich Sheldon Band brings versatility and strong musicianship to every stage — spanning Americana ballads, folk rock, blues, reggae, and groove — with sing-along originals, soulful classic-rock covers, and occasional tributes to the Rolling Stones and Grateful Dead. Music for the everyday people.
RSB has performed at the Sunshine Get Down, Grateful Gathering, and the Safety Harbor Wine Festival, and is building a devoted following across the Tampa Bay live music scene. Their original songs have reached beyond the stage — "Meet You in the Heavens" was featured on Ziggy Marley's radio site, and "Destination Unknown" appeared in a Relix Magazine JAM OFF compilation.
